Proactive IT maintenance that stops problems before they start
The cheapest IT problem is the one that never happens. Most outages, slowdowns and security scares give off warning signs long before they bring work to a halt, and the job of good IT maintenance is to catch them early and deal with them quietly. That is what CARE does. We keep your servers, computers and network in good health so your team can get on with work instead of fighting their tools.
We have looked after Singapore businesses since 2007 and currently maintain over 3,000 endpoints. Maintenance is the proactive side of our managed IT service: while our helpdesk and support handle the things that go wrong, maintenance is the work that keeps them from going wrong in the first place.
CARE SecurePatch: monitoring and patching that runs in the background
For devices we manage with an agent, our CARE SecurePatch service keeps watch around the clock so small issues get handled before anyone notices them:
- Automated patching. Operating systems and software are kept up to date on a managed schedule, closing the security gaps that attackers rely on.
- Round-the-clock monitoring. Servers, PCs, laptops and network devices are watched in real time, so a failing disk, a service that has stopped or a machine running hot is flagged early.
- Automatic alerts and tickets. When something needs attention, the system raises it and opens a ticket on its own, so nothing waits on a person noticing first.
- Threat detection and endpoint protection. Endpoint protection and EDR watch for suspicious activity, including ransomware behaviour, spotting and acting on it quickly to limit the damage.
- Health and patch compliance reporting. You get clear visibility of patch compliance across your estate, what is patched, what needs attention and how your devices are doing.
A lot of this happens quietly in the background, often resolved before the user is even aware there was a problem.
Scheduled maintenance for the devices an agent cannot reach
Not everything takes an agent, and some clients prefer not to put one on certain machines. That is fine. For firewalls, NAS units, and servers or PCs that are not on SecurePatch, we carry out scheduled hands-on maintenance instead: routine checks, firmware and updates, clean-ups and health reviews on a set rhythm. Whether your devices are agent-managed, manually maintained, or a mix of both, nothing gets left to chance.
What regular maintenance actually saves you
- Less downtime. Problems caught early rarely become the outages that stop your business for a day.
- Longer-lasting equipment. Well-maintained hardware runs better and lasts longer, so you replace it on your schedule, not in a panic.
- Better security. Consistent patching closes the holes that unpatched systems leave wide open.
- Predictable costs. Planned maintenance is far cheaper than emergency repairs and lost productivity.
- Fewer surprises. You get reporting and visibility, so IT stops being a black box.
Part of your wider managed IT
Maintenance works best as part of the whole picture. The same team that patches and monitors your systems also runs your security, your servers, your Microsoft 365 and your backups, so everything is looked after together rather than in pieces. Frequently asked questions
What does IT maintenance actually include?
The proactive work that keeps your systems healthy: patching and updates, real-time monitoring, alerting, threat detection and regular health checks. For agent-managed devices this runs automatically through CARE SecurePatch; for others we schedule hands-on maintenance.
Do you need to install software on our machines?
For the automated monitoring and patching, yes, a lightweight agent. But if you would rather not put an agent on certain devices, such as servers or specialised equipment, we maintain those on a scheduled hands-on basis instead.
Can you maintain firewalls and NAS devices too?
Yes. Network devices, firewalls and NAS units are part of regular maintenance, kept on current firmware and checked on a set schedule.
How is maintenance different from IT support?
Support and the helpdesk fix things when they go wrong. Maintenance is the proactive work that keeps them from going wrong in the first place. Together they keep your IT stable.
